YOU are invited to stay home!

Join literacy friends for Washtenaw Literacy’s 22nd annual benefit gala from the comfort of your couch! Settle in on Saturday, October 24th, at 7:00 PM, OR on Sunday, October 25th at 4:00 PM for a streaming celebration of literacy!  The encore event was added so that Michigan football fans can root for the Wolverines and support literacy. Besides you, who is coming? So far, we know that Devin Scillian, Red Berenson, and John U. Bacon will stop in along with learners and other supporters!

Plan a small, SAFE gathering – a HOUSE PARTY — to experience the 75-minute online ‘gala.’ Or, enjoy the fun with online, far-flung friends, a VIRTUAL HOUSE PARTY! Alone or with others, the evening’s program will deliver fun + inspiration. It all adds up to support for Washtenaw Literacy’s programming.

There has never been a more critical time to support Washtenaw Literacy’s programming to help adults — 16 and older — improve reading, writing, math, digital literacy, or communicating in English. The pandemic elevates the need for functional literacy as neighbors struggle to support children’s virtual school, understand health information, thoughtfully vote, or upskill to a family-sustaining wage.
